First, there’s the TNGA platform, or Toyota New Global Architecture. The latter forms the basis of the new Camry, a base that is resolutely sportier with modified dimensions. Thus, the 2018 Camry is lower and wider, which, in combined with a lower driving position, gives you a greater sense of control and therefore sportiness.
Three options are available under the hood. The first is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder that develops 203 horsepower while the second is a 3.5-liter V6 with 301 horsepower. A hybrid engine is also on the menu. An 8-speed automatic transmission will send the power to the front wheels.
In both cases, these engines are among the most powerful in the mid-size sedan segment, and yet Toyota promises better fuel consumption as well.
A Redesigned and Safer Interior in the 2018 Toyota Camry
The 2018 Toyota Camry will offer its owners a more refined, spacious and luxurious cockpit. Additionally, new technologies such as the Entune 3.0 Audio system will offer interesting and exclusive features that allow you to obtain relevant data such as the location of a stolen vehicle or the stock market and sports results.
In terms of safety, the 2018 Toyota Camry will be available, at no additional charge, with Toyota Safety Sense P, a group of active safety technologies that includes Pre-Collision with Pedestrian Detection, and Lane Departure Warning System with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Automatic High Beams are also included.
